Information Technology has proved an awesome yield for Indian IT giants in the
span of last decade. The ITES have yet taken a quantum leap with hordes of MNC
venturing into the match. The IT bandwagon zeitgeist brings colossal
opportunities to yuppies belonging to different educational domains viz.
engineering, finance, healthcare, real-estate, insurance and more.
Going by the statistical records and dispensation of population, it is
estimated out of India's 79% pastoral populace, 60% is considered educated,
when one sees it in the spectrum of using Internet, email messaging and mobile
messaging. Least is known on the knowledge based economies and sectors. This
includes KPO, BPO and the new developing jobs which are in the pipeline and
will soon throng the Indian IT market.
While, of the 21% urban populace, majority is enjoying high
salary range and overseas project on the client side, what more is required?
However, seeking a different opinion, "The Indians" are fast becoming an escape
goat of the occidentals. It is estimated that many of these MNCs follow their
own HR policies as against those approved by Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
Moreover, when it comes to paying the "Indian Labor Executives"
or "Process Associates" these very MNCs comes on disparities. These very
companies offer meager compensation packages to Indian workforce as compared to
their counterparts in US, UK or elsewhere in Europe.
But, one thing is there, that Indians are pretty happy being employed in IT and
ITES companies, and they simply think, it is graceful and prestigious to serve
a MNC@INR.
