Indian education system has undergone a sea change. It is still under the
formation stage with some serious experimentations moving in. Many of the
private and deemed Indian universities have introduced instrumental course
forms and are trying to implement e learning, m learning strategies smartly in
the traditional learning system.
Moreover, with the development of e tutor zones in various engineering, arts
and commerce infrastructures, have provided a wider domain to act and nurture
the talent which is hi-tech and next century ready.
Going by statistics, in the year 1980 where there was only
hi-tech education available to 15 percent pedagogical surroundings, by 2000 the
percentage almost tripled to 49% approximately. There has been real-time
awakening amongst student genres as well. This awakening has lead to quantum
leap in various IT, Engineering and allied sectors, apart from Non IT and Non
Engineering structures.
Much above, the technological innovations have also been a
deciding factor in creating space on a corporate podium. IT sector has also
resulted in a phenomenal increase in distant education learning modes.
Considering the census, the distant education system has been, until recently,
seen with a tint of disreputation and disregard. However, with IT taking front
lead there has been an upswing in distant learning mode of education in India
and, more distinctly, with all glowing reputation at par with regular
university education.
