Information technology sector was the first in giving boost to the sluggish
Indian economy. With it came unabated growth in ITES, which resulted in amass
of labor, working in diversified arenas and processes. In depth knowledge on
applied and quantitative concepts learnt in traditional way synchronizes with
present demands of IT industry
Statistics reveal that every year a whopping 300,000 technical graduates pass
out and most of them gain direct entry to IT, Software and ITES. Even with such
a colossal workforce, Indian IT industry faces dearth owing to severe brain
drain trend. This is further linked to behavior, wherein, majority of Indian
skilled work labor opting for high pay jobs and gleaning future.
It is estimated that the average salary of skilled work force
employed in IT industry has undergone a quantum hike of over 23% in the last
three years in India, and this hike has not substantiated the crave to earn
more and to work in more intellectually invigorating work places in US, UK,
Switzerland and other prosperous countries.
Furthermore, the work statistics estimate Indian IT workers with
2-3 years of experience earns an average of US $ 30,000, nearing one fourth of
the counterparts in other European and Transatlantic zones.
And with India's 70% IT industry concentrating in software sector, Indian
skilled labor has an awesome future waiting ahead, and not to speak of
precipitous outsourcing to IT corporate circles in upcoming electronic cities.
