UG Programmes

These programs of study emphasize strong conceptual understanding and practical skills in their area of specialization. A sound foundation in the basic sciences, coupled with courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences provide the necessary broad knowledge base to enable the student to succeed in the outside world.

Industrial training and internship is an integral part of the overall development of the student, enabling development of practical skills in real life situations.

Education Methodology

It comprises of multiple learning stages, specifically Lectures, Self-study, Tutorials, Lab Work, Assignments, Projects, Research, Internships, Guest Lectures, Seminars, Continuous Evaluation, Examinations, and Personality Development Programs.

Guest Lectures & Seminars

Eminent professionals from India and abroad drawn from academic institutions, research laboratories, and industry are invited for delivering lectures and seminars and for interactions with the Institute fraternity.

Students are continuously exposed to the latest tools and techniques in their domains. Courses offered are flexible and are updated continuously.

Group & Self-Learning

This is a very effective means towards preparing professionals who are proactive in seeking and acquiring knowledge rather than having it imparted only in the classroom. Free exchange of ideas among the group members through discussions and presentations not only leverages on time and effort but also enhances teaching and communication skills. Aptitude is developed for self-study and use of web resources and data banks to foster life long learning.

Evaluation Procedure

The Institutes follow the continuous evaluation approach. Multiple inputs are obtained for evaluation of student performance through assignments, quizzes, and three tests during each semester, A holistic view is taken of all these inputs for awarding the final Grade. A dynamic system of weightages for the various academic components like project activity, presentations, group behavior, and leadership qualities has been put in place.

Credit based academic programs offer flexibility to progress at one’s own pace subject to maximum of six years. A minimum level of performance is necessary for satisfactory progress, with english being the medium of instruction.

PG Programmes

The objective of the M. Tech program is to prepare professionals with advanced knowledge of the respective field who can serve industry, R&D organizations and can take up an academic career, including further studies in a relevant Ph. D program. The 2-year M. Tech programs are spread over four semesters whereas in the 5-year dual degree programs, the first four years are fully devoted to the requirements of the respective 4 year degree program and the 5th year is devoted to the requirements of an M. Tech degree. Some of the subjects of M. Tech are covered additionally during the 4th year of the dual degree program and the following summer to make up the credit requirements.

All M. Tech programs are designed to cover core/compulsory as well as elective subjects to advance the knowledge, ability and skills of the students in their chosen area. Students can choose the desired electives from the set of subjects offered from time to time to enable them to cater for their interest and to specialize in a particular field. More than one full semester has to be devoted to the project and thesis work by every student, which will provide ample opportunity to the student to carry out intensive work on a chosen topic resulting in an innovative and research oriented output. Seminars are included in the program to develop presentation skills in the students.
