About JIIT University
The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University Established Under Section 3 of UGC Act. 1957 vide Notification No. F.9-27/2000-U.3 dated 1st November, 2004 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The JIIT University is fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies through its not for profit trust – Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS).

University is situated near the Electronic City at Noida and is
at a distance of 3 kms from New Delhi – UP border. The state-of-the-art
campus at a total project cost of Rs 6800 lakhs, with a total
built up area of over 6,50,000 sq.ft comprising smart buildings
with Internet connectivity (environmentally conditioned Academic
Block, Faculty Residences, Student Hostels and Annapoorna), well-equipped
modern laboratories and library provides a pleasant and intellectually
stimulating ambience for students in an eco-friendly environment.
M/s Arcop Associates Pvt. Ltd. an eminent Canada based architect
firm has done the architectural design of the campus with the
construction being undertaken by the Group itself. |

The
Univesity offers Doctoral, Post-graduate (M.Tech. and MCA) as
well as Undergraduate programs (B.Tech.) of study in the disciplines
of Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics
& Communication Engineering and Biotechnology. The JIIT University
aims to develop engineers with capability to design and implement
computer based systems, tools and equipment. Our engineers are
rounded off with appropriate inter-personal skills, group working
skills, understanding engineering economics, finance as well as
with knowledge of legal/social aspects of technology. |

The University through the Department of Computer Science & IT promotes multi-media and software technologies. Students are exposed to still graphics, 2 and 3-D animation, and Digital Image Processing. They do all standard courses like Data Structures, Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, Compilers, Computer Networks, etc. A special feature of our teaching are workshop courses where intensive practical experience is given in important tools like Unix and Shell Programming, Network Programming, etc. Students are given courses in cutting edge technologies immediately relevant to industry, for example, Web Programming, Web Services, Web Application Development, Data Mining, etc. Further they can opt for courses in futuristic technologies like Quantum Information Theory, Nano-Science & Technology. Further,
through the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering,
the JIIT University promotes strong exposure in the area of Digital
Hardware Design using VHDL, VLSI Design, Signal & Speech Processing,
Digital & Data Communication, Data Compression & Error
Control Coding, Optical Communication, Satellite, Wireless and
Mobile Communication Systems. Students are also exposed to core
computer courses like Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming,
Operating Systems and Computer Networks. Unique features of our
teaching are designing electronic and communication systems using
software tools such as MATLAB, PSPICE, L-Edit, Model-Sim and DSP
kits in Signal Processing. |
