Job Description

1- Appropriately deal with paediatric problems in other areas e.g. the Accident and Emergency Department or other wards in the hospital in related cases.

2- Responsibility for administrative duties (e.g. review of results of investigations, patient records) which arise as a consequence of these clinical duties.

3- The Consultant is responsible for the in-patient and out-patient medical management of children.

4- Responsible for Labour Ward/OT cover of newborn and emergency duties through the registrars.

 

5- Undertake responsibility for the admissions and day to day care of children admitted / referred to the paediatric department

 

6- Must be available on call as per rota

7- Will also be a Faculty for the teaching programmes in the Department

8- Should be willing to work in a multi disciplinary team, whenever required.
